Exactly what’s in the name:
two bros (literally) talking about politics, international relations, geopolitics, societal and socio-economic questions and challenges.
We happen to be politics geeks and numerous universities recklessly gave us postgrad and PhD degrees. We also have long consultancy and think tank careers in Southeast Asia, where we have both lived for decades. We are both right and left, sometimes; conservative at times and very liberal at others.
But because we ain’t no boring geeks, though, we also talk about cool stuff that interests us:
Living in Asia, fighting, sports, men’s health, supplements (both casual and ”Mexican” supplements) and more.
We are Dr Frederick Kliem and Jan Kliem, two brothers, lifelong combat sports enthusiasts and active grapplers, MMA and Muay Thai and Boxing practitioners.Jan is a black belt in BJJ, Fred brown.
No BS politics, martial arts, unarmed combat and pro fighting. No jargon, non-pretentious, no ideology and non-partisan.
We do this podcast mostly for us, to catch up between Singapore (Fred) and Thailand (Jan) on a regular basis. Recording our conversation is supposed to prevent us from getting off the rails and making inappropriate comments (…it helps at least)
We hope you will find our perspectives stimulating and interesting, perhaps infuriating and annoying. Either way, please reach out in the comments and have a civil discussion.

Trump was surprisingly awesome on Joe Rogan's podcast. Love him or hate him, there was some cool stuff in there. Wild to see someone so authentic and yet so controversial. Investments, ridiculous state of the media and Europe junking out.
We also chat a lengthy catch up on the weekend's UFC, Rob vs Khamzat and Topuria vs Max Holloway.

#103: Dirty Training, Techno Music and the World Energy Outlook for Asia
Tuesday Oct 22, 2024
Tuesday Oct 22, 2024
After yummy topics such as combat sports related skin infections in Phuket, we take a look at the International Energy Agency's opening of its first regional office in Singapore, and ask if we are leaving behind the age of oil and move into the age of electricity. And if so, how can this demand be met? It's a wild world out there, but one thing's for sure – the future of energy is going to be an interesting ride!
Let's catch up soon. Until then, take care, follow what is going on, and most of all: train like a motherfucker!
